Onam is the biggest festival in the Indian state of Kerala. Onam Festival falls during the Malayali month of Chingam (Aug - Sep) and marks the homecoming of legendary King Mahabali. Carnival of Onam lasts for ten days and brings out the best of Kerala culture and tradition. Intricately decorated Pookalam, ambrosial Onasadya, breathtaking Snake Boat Race and exotic Kaikottikali dance are some of the most remarkable features of Onam - the harvest festival in Kerala.








Thrissur Pooram


Thrissur Pooram :


It is renowned as ‘Pooram of Poorams’ . Thrissur pooram celebrated at the Vadakkumnath temple in the centre of the Thrissur city. Thrissur pooram is celebrated every year in the month of Medam(mid April to Mid May)as per Malayalam Calender. Hudnreds of elephants, nettipattam, panchavadyam and fireworkds are the main attraction of the festival.  Processions of decorated elephants accompanied the festival from various negihbouring temple inlcludinog Paramekkavu Bhagavathy temple and Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple.
